Personality types in the novel "Smile, you're dead"
Abstract
Abstract
The research examines the character and its patterns in the novel "Smile, You're Dead," with the aim of identifying its most important distinguishing features, its manifestations and interactions within the narrative, and revealing the extent of its mastery, influenced by Egyptian society and its Egyptian dialect. The researcher also paid attention to secondary characters and focused on the social and psychological dimensions through observing the horror present in the novel, which is classified as an Arab horror novel. I sought to uncover the nature of this interaction between these characters and their interactions with the surrounding society. It also aimed to uncover the psychological and artistic connotations appropriate to the events, through condensation, focus, and shedding light on them within a single environment. I reached a set of conclusions, the most notable of which is that character is one of the most important axes of the novel, and the one that most influences the structure and escalation of events. Character is the primary driver of the novel's events. The researcher was also able to present the characters in the novel through the horror theme he adopted in the events, relying on character as the primary driver of the novel's events.
